Palawan tourist arrivals soar by 17%

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Feb. 13 (PIA) -- Tourist arrivals in Palawan soared by 17 percent in 2011, consistently placing 1st in the MIMAROPA region and 5th in the overall record of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

QUEZON CITY, Jan 6 (PIA) -- Coinciding with the launching of the Philippine’s new tourism slogan, the Department of Interior & Local Government (DILG) created 25 additional tourist police units (TPUs) to ensure the safety and protection of both domestic and foreign tourists in the country.
