Civil Aviation Authority sets another public hearing on terminal fee hike

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, May 3 (PIA) -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has set another date for public hearing on its proposal to increase terminal fee on May 10, at the Asturias Hotel in this city.

This is the second public hearing to be conducted for the purpose of informing the public of a proposed hike of terminal fee of the Puerto Princesa Airport, and to obtain the pulse, commentaries, and recommendations of the public regarding the increase.

DPWH EYES P17B FOR PHILIPPINE TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS!

It may take P17 billion worth of road and related projects to fully prop up the country’s tourism industry, according to a proposal from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Public Works Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said in an interview that he and Tourism Secretary Mon Jimenez have talked about the road projects needed in key tourism areas all over the country.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Mayo 2 (PIA) --- Bilang paghahanda sa taunang Pista Y Ang Kagueban o Feast of the Forest ng pamahalaang panglungsod, ang City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) ay nakapaghanda na sa kasalukuyan ng umaabot sa 100,000 mga pananim na puno.

Ang Pista Y Ang Kagueban ay isang programa ng pamahalaang panglungsod na nagsusulong ng taunang pagtatanim ng mga puno upang mapangalagaan ang mga watershed ng lungsod, na siyang pangunahing nagsusuplay na malinis na inuming tubig sa mga mamamayan gayundin ang mapangalagaan ang kapaligiran.

Tagalog news: Ilang tourist destinations sa Puerto Princesa nilagyan ng CCTV

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Mayo 2 (PIA) -- Nilagyan na ng pamahalaang panglungsod ng closed circuit television (CCTV) camera ang ilang tourist destinations sa lungsod upang ma-monitor ang mga pang-araw araw na aktibidad sa lugar.

Ito ang kinumpirma ni City Councilor Eleutherius Edualino, Chairman ng Committee on Tourism sa panayam dito noong araw ng Lunes sa regular na sesyon ng Sangguniang Panglungsod.

Environmental advocates appeal to SC to stop GMO test

DUMAGUETE CITY, April 28 (PIA) -- Some environmental advocates here filed a petition with the Supreme Court (SC) recently for issuance of a Writ of Kalikasan to immediately stop the genetically modified organism (GMO) field testing in the country.

Silliman University President Dr. Ben Malayang III is among those calling on the SC to stop the GMO testing, as four provinces in the Philippines are to carry out field trials on Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) talong (eggplants), a GMO variety.

DOTC starts bidding of P500M airport security equipment project next month

MANILA, April 26 (PNA) -- The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is set to open up the bidding next month for the procurement of the P500- million airport X-ray screening and security equipment project.

DOTC Secretary Manuel A. Roxas II told reporters that the project aims to improve security in different airports in the country with commercial flights by installing, upgrading and properly layering security screening of passengers.
