Civil Aviation Authority sets another public hearing on terminal fee hike

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, May 3 (PIA) -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has set another date for public hearing on its proposal to increase terminal fee on May 10, at the Asturias Hotel in this city.

This is the second public hearing to be conducted for the purpose of informing the public of a proposed hike of terminal fee of the Puerto Princesa Airport, and to obtain the pulse, commentaries, and recommendations of the public regarding the increase.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Mayo 2 (PIA) --- Bilang paghahanda sa taunang Pista Y Ang Kagueban o Feast of the Forest ng pamahalaang panglungsod, ang City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) ay nakapaghanda na sa kasalukuyan ng umaabot sa 100,000 mga pananim na puno.

Ang Pista Y Ang Kagueban ay isang programa ng pamahalaang panglungsod na nagsusulong ng taunang pagtatanim ng mga puno upang mapangalagaan ang mga watershed ng lungsod, na siyang pangunahing nagsusuplay na malinis na inuming tubig sa mga mamamayan gayundin ang mapangalagaan ang kapaligiran.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Mayo 2 (PIA) -- Nilagyan na ng pamahalaang panglungsod ng closed circuit television (CCTV) camera ang ilang tourist destinations sa lungsod upang ma-monitor ang mga pang-araw araw na aktibidad sa lugar.

Ito ang kinumpirma ni City Councilor Eleutherius Edualino, Chairman ng Committee on Tourism sa panayam dito noong araw ng Lunes sa regular na sesyon ng Sangguniang Panglungsod.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, April 24 (PNA) –- A solon here has filed a resolution at the Sangguniang Panlungsod requesting and urging the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) and other environment agencies to study three proposed birding sites before they are opened to bird lovers and enthusiasts.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, April 18 (PIA) -- The official announcement and formal inauguration of the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature is set on April 21 with the participation of President Benigno Aquino III as the Keynote Speaker.

Bruce Weber, founder of the New 7 Wonders international campaign will officially make the declaration of the PPUR as one of the winners of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Nickel-absorbing plant to be featured in agri forum

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, April 15 (PIA) -- An indigenous plant capable of absorbing nickel will be the showcase of Agri-Entrepreneurs’ Forum and Techno Clinic of the 42nd Annual Scientific Conference of the Crop Science Society of the Philippines (CSSP) scheduled on April 16 to 21 in this city.

Dr. Patrick Regoniel of the Palawan State University will present “Phytoremediation Technology: Reconstructing Ecosystems in Denuded Lands,” which will feature the indigenous plant capable of assimilating nickel.

Binay lauds Palawan's Community Mortgage Program

MANILA, April 14 (PNA)-- Vice President Jejomar C. Binay led the distribution of 300 land titles to several home owner associations in Puerto Princesa City on Friday, 120 of them under the Community Mortgage Program (CMP) of the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC).

He lauded Palawan province for being one of the most active local government units in implementing CMPs. Citing figures from the SHFC, he said over 7,600 families have already benefited from CMPs in Palawan. He also cited the high collection efficiency rate of the province.
